Enhancing Digital Competency with BLC
The aim of our term projects are to enhance digital application within the classroom. We tailor our lesson plans to the needs of the class and to the school’s personal planning. This allows us to cover the digital aspect of the curriculum, ensuring the children have a positive and practical experience of using digital competency within their classroom environment.
Throughout our project at Hen Felin our classes have used a variety of different applications and softwares in order to become digitally confident. We have used applications and software such as Minecraft, Stop Motion, Kahoot, Hwb, Purple Mash and Quiver. By using these applications it has been extremely beneficial for the children as it has allowed them to explore and learn in a different yet exciting way.
Through their class themes of The Family Tree and The Orchestra we have explored how to learn about these digitally. From using MineCraft to build our family homes to using Kahoot and Augmented Reality to locate where different music comes from around the world. The digital scope is endless!
Our sessions have also been beneficial to the staff in numerous ways as they stated that “The Big Learning Company allow us to access a range of apps and technology we may not have discovered without them. The pupils love it.”
