We offer a range of STEM & Computer Science inspired workshops.

Our workshops have been developed to compliment the new curriculum combining different topics and skills together into a fun two hour educational experience.

All of our workshops are available in English & Welsh, are suitable for Years 3-11 and can be adjusted to fit into your schools theme and/or term topic.

Computer Codebreaking

Keeping secrets is a big part of life, passwords, bank details, etc… but have you ever thought about how they are keep secret?

Throughout history people have been coming up with new and ingenious ways to keep their information secret, but as technology develops it gets harder and harder.

As part of this workshop students learn about how this was done throughout history, how it is done now and make their own computer program to help them break codes.

Lego® Education Robotics

We have all wanted a robot sidekick at one point in our lives, but have we ever thought about the work that would go into making something like that?

During this workshop students will get a glimpse of how robots work.

Thanks to Lego® Education and their fantastic kits students can build their own robots to tackle problems around forces, recycling and design all while learning how more and more robots are being used in the modern world.

Microbits Engineering

In this workshop, students explore how to use Microbits to bring Strawbees creations to life, learning the fundamentals of coding and engineering along the way.

The workshop emphasises the basics of programming, design thinking, and problem-solving, encouraging students to build and program projects. Through this, they will discover how their ideas can take shape in the real world, sparking curiosity and innovation as they create and experiment.

Predicting Projectiles

Science is the study of the world around us and through it we have learnt how much of the world works.

How have we managed this? Through experimentation and testing.

This workshop looks at how this is done in the modern world using computers. Students work in Scratch to make a simulator that can predict how far a projectile might travel given a certain set of variables. They then conduct the experiment and compare the results.

Programming 101

Computers are wonderful machines, they can perform so many different tasks, so fast, all at once, but how?

In this workshop students learn about how computers work and how their programming dictates what they can and can’t do. They will learn this by building their own simple program that can; act as a quiz, perform calculations for them, draw any shape they like or even make a simple game, it’s your choice.
